Emma is has completed her PhD and is now a research fellow at the University of Cambridge, where she models viral dynamics within bat reservoir hosts. She is interested in mechanisms of viral persistence and shedding at different scales, from chronic and recurring infections to metapopulation processes such as seasonal interactions between colonies. She holds an undergraduate degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University.
