Addressing myths and fears about Australian flying foxes and Covid-19
Social and traditional media in Australia has seen an increase in myths and fears that flying foxes may be carrying or spreading SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for Covid-19. Dr Alison Peel, a member of the BatOneHealth research team, has gone on record in several interviews as well as co-authoring an article for The Conversation in which she dispels myths and explains why flying foxes are a crucial species in the Australian landscape.
