Bat OneHealth team publishes on shedding of bat paramyxoviruses coinciding with Hendra virus spillover

Bat OneHealth and Griffith University scientist Alison Peel and her colleagues, including two other Bat OneHeath team members Hamish McCallum and Raina Plowright, published an open access paper in Emerging Microbes and Infections. The paper Synchronous shedding of multiple bat paramyxoviruses coincides with peak periods of Hendra virus spillover, assesses whether a better understanding of viral community interactions and dynamics can elucidate drivers of viral dynamics and spillover.

This video shows some of the work we're doing at Griffith University, Australia and within our Bat1health research group (bat1health.org) as we investigate the links between habitat loss, the ecology and health of flying foxes, and the dynamics and spillover of viruses they host.
