Washburne’s new publication describes tool to manage pandemics

Alex Washburne, a member of the Bat1Health team and research scientist in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Montana State University, has a new publication in Ecological Monographs. The paper Phylofactorization: a graph partitioning algorithm to identify phylogenetic scales of ecological data describes a novel mathematical tool to better understand disease and manage pandemics. Co-authors include Bat1Health team members Daniel Becker, Dan Crowley, and Raina Plowright.
