Brooklin Hunt does a Guest Lecture at Loop Abroad

Undergraduate Brooklin Hunt gave a guest lecture about Hendra virus in Australian flying foxes to a group of students from Loop Abroad. Loop Abroad is associated with Iowa Wesleyan University and works to provide educational opportunities to pre-veterinary students interested in wildlife and exotic species and donates much of the tuition money from these courses to animal sanctuaries and non-profit clinics. Brooklin’s lecture will supplement the coursework that these students are currently involved in for their wildlife- and/or Australian-based online classes. In her lecture, she covered the basics of bat biology, bats as reservoirs of zoonotic diseases, and Hendra virus ecology.
