Wow! Black flying fox released with GPS tracker

Meet Peter Pan, a black flying fox from Australia, as he is released with his very own solar-powered GPS tracker to monitor his movements for the next three weeks. These large fruit bats play an important role in our ecosystems: they pollinate and disperse seeds for a variety of trees and plants, including those relied on by koalas. The more we know about bat movements, the more we understand where these animals are going and what resources they want, need, and provide. This information will help us with conservation efforts for the bats and the ecosystems they support, and help us to ensure bats and humans can coexist.
